For a long time, supporting local meant extending goodwill. Buying Filipino was a gesture—an act of faith that the product would be good enough. You chose it because it was ours, and you hoped it would hold up.
But something has shifted. A generation of Filipino brands has closed the gap. The products are good. Not good for local. Not good considering. Just good.
So when someone says we don't look like a Filipino brand, we hear what they mean—and we also hear what it reveals about what we thought a Filipino brand had to look like.
We didn't design Habitude to "look Filipino." We designed it to the standard we believe Filipino consumers have always deserved. Science-led. Barrier-first. Honest, including the unglorious parts.
That's the Filipinoness.
It's in the way we formulate. It's in the packaging, made in collaboration with Filipino artists, because we think the art matters as much as what's inside. It's in the pricing, kept accessible because good skincare shouldn't require a flight to Seoul to afford. And it's in the honesty—about what our products do, what they don't, and why we built them the way we did.
Filipino identity was never just an aesthetic. It's a standard. And ours has always been: make something worth trusting.
The conversation around Filipino beauty has matured. It used to be about visibility—getting local brands on shelves, getting them noticed, getting them taken seriously. That work was necessary, and it happened. But the conversation has moved. It's no longer a question of whether Filipino brands deserve a place at the table. It's about what they do when they get there.
What we've chosen to do is build something that holds up—not because it looks the part, but because it does the work. And that's where we put our energy: in the science, sourcing, and ingredient decisions that most people never see, but that the skin always feels. It’s making something you come back to, not because it's ours, but because it's good. The kind of good that doesn't need a qualifier.
That's what we're building. One habit at a time.
